I worked as an Art Director.
My experience in advertising focused mostly on the cable television industry. While we delivered 360° campaigns—from on-air to outdoor—print publication was consistently my favorite. It wasn't always glamorous and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into debating with clients on headline point size and just how much bigger we could make the logo, but I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to work on some of the highest rated programming with a few of the most talented television hosts, writers, photographers and re-touchers in the world. Not to mention, when you're given the chance to personally shampoo brownie mix, mustard and sun-dried tomatoes out of Mike Rowe's hair, you take it.
